What did you learn from the pandemic?

Beloved,

I pray you are abounding in every good work! (See 2 Corinthians 9:8).

Today, I want to ask you a question that I’ve asked myself many times over the last year.

What did the pandemic reveal to you?

I hope this is a question most everyone can answer. You see, hard seasons have a way of forcing inward reflection. We can stop and think or miss the opportunity entirely.

The choice is ours.

Still, I believe God desires that we draw even closer to Him in this hour. On our best days, we aren’t built to carry the burdens of life alone. The Bible tells us this much in 1 Peter 5:6-7, which states:

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Over the last year, I’ve found myself reflecting and asking God so many questions. Yes, new truths have been revealed to me. One is seared in my mind.

WE HAVE A COMMON ENEMY.

We have a common enemy, but all can’t see him. Many are blinded by race, ethnicity, social status and politics. The enemy uses these weapons to keep countries, communities, and even some churches divided. It’s sad but true. COVID-19 is an ugly and vicious virus that does not discriminate along party lines, neighborhood boundaries or checking account balances. The young, old, poor and wealthy have all been impacted.

Reducing a spiritual battle to mere differences in politics is a dangerous game that too many are playing. Sadly, the spiritually dead and unsuspecting are being duped. This is a dangerous time to be unsaved or unsure of your salvation. We are in a spiritual battle that cannot be won with man-made devices.

I’ll say it again.

We are in a spiritual battle. The enemy is after your mind so that he can crush your faith. And there is no winning a battle without proper equipment.

My prayer is that everyone who reads this post will recognize the times and seasons in which we are living.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. –Ephesians 6:10-13

God’s promises for your provision

The Bible is full of examples of God providing for His people.

Yet, during this season of economic uncertainty, you may have lost sight of God’s promises to meet your every need.

Beloved, if that’s you, don’t worry. I’m writing today to remind you of God’s promises.

The following eight scriptures relate specifically to finances. As a son or daughter of the Most High God, these promises belong to you!

8 Promises That Belong To You

(1) I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. –– Psalm 37:25

(2) The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. — Psalm 34:10

(3) Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” — Luke 6:38

(4) And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. — Philippians 4:19

(5) “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. — Matthew 6:31-33

(6) Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. — 3 John 1:2

(7) This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. — Joshua 1:8

(8) Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it
.

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”
Says the Lord of hosts;
“And all nations will call you blessed,
For you will be a delightful land,”
Says the Lord of hosts
. — Malachi 3:10-12

september gift bundle

Hey Luvs!

Can you believe we’re already in the month of September? Despite the lingering pandemic, it feels to me that time is passing swiftly.

And here we are. My favorite month. September.

It’s a time of new beginnings. I have fond memories of starting a new school year in September. When I was in college, I recall packing up my dad’s suburban and making the drive back to my campus dorm room at Michigan State. I was always excited and looking forward to what the new semester would bring. Those were good times…..

In keeping with those memories, I always like to do something special in September. So, starting this month, I’m putting together a monthly gift bundle of goodies that I hope will help keep you on track with your goals for the year. This is just my way of thanking you for following this blog.

You can download these items in my Gumroad store. Feel free to share them with a friend!

Here’s to a fantastic September!

Yes Beloved, God Sees You!

Hey Luvs!

Do you ever wonder if you’re on God’s radar screen?

Let me put it this way….

God, do you see what’s going on here?

If that sentiment sounds familiar, then I suspect you’ve wondered a time or two if God really sees what’s going on in your life.

I was having one of those days last week, and that was my cry….God, do you see what’s going on here?

Oh yes, the enemy had invited me to a pity-party.

It was an invitation I wish I had not accepted.

Not long after arriving to a mosh pit of every lie you can imagine, the Holy Spirit reminded me that I had no business there.

I had no business having tea with the enemy of my soul.

The Holy Spirit had come to rescue me by reminding me of all the other times God had come through in spectacular fashion, and this time would be no different.

I was also lead to a message by Bishop T.D. Jakes. This was such an encouraging Word!

I’m sharing the link below and hope you’ll check out the video, especially if you’re wondering if God really sees you.

If you’ve accepted an invitation to the pity-party, again, check out this video. After watching this message, you definitely won’t be able to stay there.

Yes Beloved, God sees you!

A gift for you

Hey Luvs!

I’ve compiled a few of my favorite scriptures into a downloadable PDF and wanted to share them with you.

How many times have you asked God for direction?

I’ve learned from past mistakes, so I’m always asking.

There was a time in my life many, many years ago that I never asked God for direction. I wasn’t a mature Christian at that time. When it came to decision-making, if something “felt” right… I went with the flow.

And yes, I ended up in one disaster after another.

Thank God for His grace and mercy!

There’s a couple scriptures that I lean into when I’m seeking direction.

I’ve compiled them into a PDF that you can download, save to your desktop or pass along to a friend.

Either way, I hope these scriptures bless you and remind you that God is always near and is faithful to direct our steps.

Shalom!

Your storm has an expiration date

Beloved,

If you’re going through a storm right now, I’ve come to bring you good news!

It will end.

Yes, your storm has an expiration date.

I was reminded of this simple truth as recent as this Sunday morning, and I wanted to remind you too.

Sunday Morning…..

If you know anything about the state of Michigan, then you know we get some pretty wicked thunderstorms during the summer months. And so it was this morning…

I was awaked early this morning by howling winds. The sun should have been rising, but instead the sky was dark. I mean really, really dark!

And then the torrential downpour started, followed by thunder and lightning.

Honey chile… believe me when I tell you that Mother Nature was “doing the most” this morning in Northeast Michigan!

And now…..

The rain has stopped and the sun has returned to reveal a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Often times the storms of life mirror today’s thunderstorm. Sometimes we go through seasons when the wind is howling and the rain seems like it will never end.

Today, if you feel like you’re going from crisis to crisis, don’t lose heart.

Rest assured, your storm WILL end. There is an expiration date.

Trust in the One who controls the storm for He knows when it will end.

Settle your spirit by meditating on the Word of God. Trust that He has you in the palm of His hands.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. — Psalm 34:19

Selah.
